As an international family-owned business and provider of textile services, SALESIANER addresses the impact of its business activities on the environment, employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders. These include, amongst other things, energy use, water consumption, emissions, procurement, health and safety, supply chains and compliance. SALESIANER regularly publishes information on the company’s key topics, key performance indicators and objectives. The sustainability report has been prepared in accordance with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). It provides an overview of selected environmental, social and economic issues, as well as the measures, key performance indicators and targets of the group of companies.

We are committed to sustainable corporate development, pursuing a strategy here that enables us to improve our sustainability efforts, and thus our contribution to safeguarding a liveable world, on an ongoing basis. To do this, we have set ourselves a number of short-term, medium-term and long-term goals in our four areas of strategic focus:

energy use, water consumption, emissions, material use and operational processes

Rental textiles and the service cycle

What is now being discussed in terms of the ‘sharing economy’ and the ‘circular economy’ has been part of SALESIANER’s business model for decades: with the introduction of rental textiles some 50 years ago, the company was an early adopter of the principle of ‘use rather than own’, professional reconditioning and multiple use. We are continually developing this approach further – through modern textile services, reusable systems, recycling projects and transparent reporting.

Human rights and the supply chain

SALESIANER adheres to the International Labour Organisation’s core labour standards and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The aim is to identify and assess human rights risks in supply chains and to devise appropriate measures. To this end, SALESIANER is gradually expanding its supply chain assurance programme. This includes, amongst other things, defined requirements, verification procedures and monitoring processes for selected key suppliers.
